Membership is open to all persons interested in the Society’s objectives.

Members enjoy these valuable benefits:


Five times a year, members receive a digital reminder about upcoming meetings and classes sponsored by the Society as well as some meetings of interest at nearby genealogical societies.

Digital Bulletin

Twice a year each member receives a digital compilation of genealogy related stories written by Society members. Add $15.00 to your yearly membership dues if you want a printed copy of the Bulletin mailed to you.

Reduced fees

Members enjoy discounts on publications, reduced admission fees for Society seminars, classes, and special member rates for Society-sponsored trips.

Any member who has a website may have a link to it posted on the Society’s “Central Coast Websites” page.

Published Genealogies

Each member is invited to host his/her own San Luis Obispo County Genealogical Family Tree Online providing it meets the qualifications given at SLO Published Genealogies.

SLOCGS produces and makes available to the Board of Directors and committee chairpersons membership lists for the conduct of official society business. The President, Membership Chair, and the Editor of the SLOCGS Bulletin require a master membership roster containing all of a member’s contact information. Other officers may just need a general membership roster that contains your name and email address only. With these two exceptions, you may choose to withhold your phone number and/or mailing address.
